Summer time in the city! If you’re not heading to the lake, there’s plenty to enjoy here in Winnipeg. We made a list of the Summer Hot Spots to hit up this year! If you’re visiting from outside of Winnipeg, consider this a tour guide of our favourite local places.
1. BDI
The Bridge Drive In is an absolute must! Walk up to this vintage style milkshake & sundae stop to enjoy a frosty cone on a hot day. Walk across the bridge overlooking the Red River!
Meet us at the forks! It’s such a hub of activity with so many events happening all the time. Head to Smith for lunch in the gorgeous Inn at the Forks hotel! For a sweet treat, visit Jenna Rae Cakes new store front on the second floor.
Who could resist these delicious croissants from Tall Grass Prairie Bakery!? Sometimes we wonder if these photoshoot days even count as work or if we just get to eat all day.
3. St. Norbert Farmer’s Market
Open Saturdays and Wednesdays, this market is full of local vendors with homemade and home grown goodies! Perfect for a weekend outing with the family!
The Lyric Theatre, located in the Assiniboine Park is known for hosting morning yoga, ballet in the park, movie nights, and outdoor concerts! We love the opportunity to gather outside and enjoy the performances. Bring a blanket and a picnic, it’s a great family outing or date night idea!
If you need an escape from the city heat, our last hotspot is a little day trip! Lester beach is a beautiful little private beach near Grand beach, about an hour and a half away from Winnipeg. We love the quiet & relaxing days of Summer, sometimes a beach day is just what you need!
